This is the 6th annual Great Oregon Steam-Up quilt show.

With some new sponsors for the quilt show event, within the Great Oregon Steam-Up event, we are proud to say, that each year it continues to grow with quilts to view, domestic arts for display and demonstrations, vendors selling items from quilts, purses, wallets, aprons, embroidery sayings and pictures on various types of items, table runners, pillow cases, upscaled smaller quilts, from vintage linens, quilts, and much much more. For the first weekend only some vintage sewing machines, some with cabinets will be for sale too, located mostly in the Pacific Northwest Truck Museum.

This year the Northwest Vintage Car and Motorcycle Museum opened a meeting room where we can hold classes and demonstrations each day. And a couple of tables where the kids or anyone can color with crayons, or colored pencils quilts on paper, glue blocks on their own paper quilt block to take home with them, and more. Quilts on display in the meeting room as well as the ladies in the museum will have a nice lady’s section for you to view as well. A schedule will be posted by July 15th, for you to view and make plans to attend one or more each day. (No charge to come to these classes, but donations are welcomed for each class if you choose to).

A bonus if you like to tour the grounds are the other 12 museums on the grounds, where quilts will be on display, quilts for raffles, and more. Each museum does their own displays and raffles. We are going to have some really nice quilts coming this year from various parts of Oregon that have been shown at other very large quilt shows, quilts from the Quilts of Valor group, with the possibility of giving one away one special quilt per day for a Veteran That we choose from with in the campus of Powerland, too. This being a first for our show to do.

There are daily door prize drawing for some large baskets full of books, patterns, fabric and notions and other items. We are also bringing back the People’s Choice of favorite quilts each weekend. So choices made on each Saturday, votes will be counted at the end of the day, then on Sunday the first, second and third place winners will be given a ribbon and pictures put on Facebook.!!!

So lots to of new things to see and do this year for the quilt show.
